Laser/IPL Treatments

Permanent Hair reduction

Lasers and Intense Pulsed Light Systems offer a safe, long-term solution to unwanted, excess hair for both men and women. Treatment is suitable for the face and body, is quick and results can be seen after just a FEW sessions!

The way that treatment works is that light is selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells.

Are you suitable for treatment? Most people are suitable for treatment. Best results are often achieved with clients who have fair skin and dark hair. Dark hair is more easily treated as it has a high concentration of melanin. Fair hair however contains less melanin and is harder to treat. Grey/white hair has no melanin so is not suitable for treatment. We cannot treat if you have a suntan or are wearing fake tan.

Pigmentation Removal

Are you interested in removing pigmentation freckles and age spots? These can be successfully lightened or removed with Laser or Intense Pulsed Light. All of these treatments are non-invasive, suitable for both the face and body and will result in a more even skin tone.

How does it work? Intense Pulsed Light systems release short pulses of filtered light that is readily absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found within freckles, sun-spots or liver spots. The rapid absorption of light energy heats the melanin and causes the destruction of the melanin-rich cells.

The treatment involves having a layer of chilled gel applied to the treatment area. The light applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulsed of light is released. The applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.

On average one to three sessions are required with a four week gap in between sessions.
