Skin Tag Removal – Cryotherapy
I have a number of patients who come to see me at our Hampshire clinic looking for skin tag removal or with skin imperfections which are causing concern. This is often affecting their confidence or indeed quality of life. In some cases the imperfection is not only unsightly but also causing discomfort by rubbing again clothing.
Patients may have already visited their Doctor only to find that cosmetic procedures for skin imperfections are no longer being treated by many practitioners on the NHS.
Using advanced cryotherapy innovation in the form of a CryoPen I am able to treat a range of skin imperfections quickly, safely and effectively here in the comfort of the face and skin clinic.
Imperfections that are suitable for Cryotherapy are:
-
skin tag removal
-
pigmentation
-
warts
-
age spots
-
milia
-
cherry angioma
-
viral verrucae
So how does Cryotherapy work?
The CryoPen emits a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure, allowing me to work with millimetre precision. The jet destroys the tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, forming ice shards and crystals which rupture the membrane, therefore destroying the cell.
What are the benefits?
As the CryoPen is incredibly accurate it is a low-risk and minimally invasive procedure with no collateral damage to healthy tissue. A pain sensation similar to a stinging nettle will be experienced when the nitrous oxide reaches the bottom of the area that is being treated – but this only lasts for a few minutes.
Treatment time depends on the area and thickness of the tissue being treated, with an application time from 5 to 30 seconds. So patients can be in and out of the clinic quickly. Then over the next few weeks your skin tags and imperfections will just drop off or fade out!
Price
The price for Cryotherapy starts at £50 and a consultation is necessary to assess the area needing treatment.
